- The Corolla Education Foundation is a non-profit whose only function is to operate the Water’s Edge Village School (known as WEVS - pronounced “waves”). Our EIN is 27-5002997

- WEVS currently has 50 students in grades K-8 (80% Currituck residents, 20% Dare)

- Thanks to a very generous donation, we now own the property and adjacent to the historic school house!

- Over the past couple of years, through donations, pledges, transfers, grants, and gifts, we need only $240,000 to reach our $2.1M goal for construction of the building!

- Highlighted donors thus far include the Evans Family, the Twiddy Family, TowneBank, OBXTek, Outer Banks Community Foundation, 100% of the board of the Corolla Education Foundation, SAGA, Distinctive, multiple family foundations and a generous foundation level pledge.

We are Full - And growing!

With years of having more than 20 local students on our waiting list, it is time to grow! After acquiring the property next door to the Historic Schoolhouse, we broke ground late last year and are now on the up! We have had matching fund drives, goods donated for raffles, a one-day almost $80,000 in donations 2024 Corolla Cup, parent time donated for open houses, and baked goods given for fundraisers. Local individuals, leaders, businesses, and over 100 community partners have donated! And we are VERY CLOSE TO OUR GOAL!

As part of the $240,000 we still have one classroom that could be named!
